Career Coffee: Networking with Confidence – In Person or Online

A recent survey of PRSA members indicated that networking is a main reason they join the association. It is an essential element of anyone’s professional career – some say it is more important than ever! Yet, it can be intimidating, exhausting and awkward even in normal circumstances much less in the midst of a pandemic. In lieu of the traditional in-person conference or meeting over coffee, what can you do to continue to invest in building your network and strengthen relationships virtually?

Join us for the Minnesota PRSA Career Coffee on Feb. 12th as we explore the topic with networking guru Cathy Paper, founder of RockPaperStar. Cathy will introduce us to IMPACT100™ and lead an interactive discussion on strategies and tactics individuals (introverts and extroverts) are using to strengthen their network despite the circumstances.

Cathy Paper, M.A., is the founder of RockPaperStar, a boutique consulting firm that specializes in coaching, marketing and promotion for individuals, business owners or executives by offering creative ideas to improve process and performance. Cathy and her team have built many award-winning and results driven training products for a variety of clients. Cathy has coached executives and managers at Best Buy, Paramount Pictures, John Deere and Apple, as well as many Minnesota-based privately held companies and service firms. With energy and enthusiasm Cathy shares her networking savvy and marketing skills to guide leaders to define and reach goals for their teams and organizations. Her naturally competitive nature – Cathy runs, played rugby and was a Minnesota State Tennis Doubles Champion – is inspiring and contagious. Cathy earned her BA at Williams College and holds a Master’s Degree in Organization Development from the University of St. Thomas. She is a national speaker, a columnist for the American City Business Journals; a winner of the National Association of Women Business Owners “Woman on the Way” award, given to a woman business owner who has demonstrated ahead-of-the-curve achievement for herself and her company; and Minnesota Business Magazine’s “Real Power 50.”
