The Minnesota Chapter of PRSA promotes development of the public relations profession and that begins with a commitment to supporting college students who are majoring in the field. Minnesota members of the PRSA College of Fellows initiated the Minnesota Chapter of PRSA’s Student Fund in 2005 to help defray the registration costs for any PR & Communications college student to attend Minnesota PRSA programs and networking events. This helps the chapter meet its diversity, equity and inclusion mission by leveling the playing field for any student to participate in any chapter, district or national PRSA offerings.

Students can request up to $50 per calendar year by submitting a request to the chapter, given the following guidelines:

• Student Fund waiver requests may be used to defer the costs of registration fees to attend Minnesota Chapter of PRSA programs or networking events.
  
• Each PR or communications student is eligible for $50/year; college students need not be a PRSSA member to request funds; funds are not based on income or need.
  
• Funds will not be distributed directly to the student, but rather transferred internally to cover attendance fees or via a check to district or national chapter (e.g. for dues or conference registration).
  
• All strictly networking events are free for students, including the Chapter’s Annual Meeting.
  
• Requests for non‐Minnesota Chapter events may only be considered for PRSA district, regional or international conferences and only if sufficient funds exist. Only official delegates are eligible. Funds may only be used to offset registration (not travel costs).
  
• Students may also request a waiver to defray costs of PRSSA dues, up to the annual limit per student.
  

Students can request up to $50 per calendar year by submitting a request form to the Minnesota Chapter of PRSA. Please submit the form at least two weeks prior to the registration deadline for the requested event or program. The chapter will notify you if your request has been approved.
